PA Biomass Energy Association Selects New Management

[Meadville, PA/Washington, DC] – The Pennsylvania Biomass Energy Association (PBEA) announced today that it has selected Technology Transition Corporation (TTC) as its management services provider in order to better serve its membership and the PA biomass energy industry.

PBEA is a non-profit, industry-driven organization working to advance the use of biomass for clean heat and for combined heat & power (CHP) applications. The association is focused on the use of biomass in the residential, small business, commercial, institutional, agricultural, and industrial sectors.

“The PA biomass industry is growing and we’re excited about the experience and new capabilities PBEA will be able to provide our members through TTC,” said Paul Lewandowski from AFS Energy Systems, Inc. Chair of the Board for PBEA. “The Board went through an exhaustive RFP and negotiation process which resulted in our decision and selection of TTC.”

Technology Transition Corporation has been growing clean energy industries for 30 years. Among its clients, TTC manages two national biomass trade associations, the Biomass Thermal Energy Council and American Biogas Council, and the regional Northeast Biomass Thermal Working Group which offers a number of opportunities for collaboration and leveraging resources. PBEA has also hired TTC Vice President Patrick Serfass as its new Executive Director.

“I’m honored by the Board’s confidence in hiring our company and me to lead PBEA at such a critical time for biomass and renewable energy overall in our country,” said Mr. Serfass. “It has become increasingly clear that renewable energy policy will be hotly debated in the coming months and years. It’s up to all of us to make sure that biomass energy is a key part of those Pennsylvania and Federal energy policies. PBEA is well positioned to engage and lead those debates to grow the infrastructure for using all forms of biomass for electricity, heat and fuels in all sectors, large and small.”

“PBEA’s selection of TTC to provide management services to the Association will bring a wealth of nationally-recognized expertise and leadership to the Pennsylvania biomass industry, said Joel Morrison, Director WPPSEF and a member of the PBEA Board of Directors. “PBEA is on the cusp of becoming a unifying voice for the PA biomass clean heat & power industry and the
