PA Biomass Energy Association Elects Four New Directors
[Meadville, PA/Washington, DC] – Today, the Pennsylvania Biomass Energy Association (PBEA) announced the election of four new Directors to its Board. PBEA is a non-profit, industry-driven organization working to advance the use of biomass for clean heat and for combined heat & power (CHP) applications. The association is focused on the use of biomass in the residential, small business, commercial, institutional, agricultural, and industrial sectors.
The newly elected Directors are:
- Michael Jacobson, Professor of Forest Resources and Chair of Forest Ecosystem ManagementProgram for the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences;
- Paul Kohl, Energy Program Manager for the Philadelphia Water Department;
- Peter Krajsa, Executive Vice President, Channel Development for Renew Financial (formerly AFCFirst); and
- Dan Rider, Programs Manager – Forest Stewardship & Utilization for the Maryland Departmentof Natural Resources – Forest Service
PBEA Board Chair, Paul Lewandowski of AFS Energy Systems, Inc., remarked: “We are excited for the future of the Biomass Industry in PA and throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as a result of strengthening our leadership team with the diversity of experience added with the election of these new Directors to our team. There were many great candidates to choose from and we look forward to increased membership involvement from them as well as ALL the new members that recently joined.”
The new Directors join current Directors John Costlow, President and CEO of the Sustainable Energy Fund; Paul Lewandowski, Sales Director at AFS Energy Systems, Inc.; Joel Morrison, Director of the West Penn Power Sustainable Energy Fund; Mike Palko, Owner of Biomass Renewable Energy, LLC; Tom Wilson, President of Wilson Engineering Services, PC; Geoffrey Bristow, Regional Energy Manager of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; Bruce Miller, Senior Scientist and Associate Director of the Penn State EMS Energy Institute; and Patrick Serfass, Executive Director of the PA Biomass Energy Association.
